Home»About Us

VERDE Research Center for Innovation and Sustainable Development is a leading research center in the field of protection of the environment, climate change, and renewable energy in the area of Western Macedonia, Greece.

The organization is leading the transition to a de-lignified society through research and promotion of environmentally friendly energy sources. Considering we are based in Kozani — the city which produces more than 50% of electricity in Greece based on coal — we aim to promote an eco-friendly way of living in terms of green, digital, and sustainable development.

We are striving to inform, inspire, empower, and enable society to develop environment-conscious behavior with rational utilization of natural resources.

Our work contributes to the implementation of the European Green Deal and the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aiming for decent lives for all on a healthy planet by 2030.
