New “Zero Waste Best Practices Guide” Promotes Sustainable Construction Across Europe

The Zero Waste Build partnership has officially launched the Zero Waste Best Practices Guide, a comprehensive resource designed to inspire sustainable innovation in the construction and built environment sectors. Developed under the Erasmus+ programme, the guide brings together international examples that demonstrate how reducing, reusing, recycling, and rebuying materials can reshape the future of construction.

The publication compiles 20+ real-world case studies from across Europe, showcasing pioneering projects that turn waste into opportunity. From the Brighton Waste House made entirely from recycled materials to Upcycle Studios in Copenhagen and Alliander HQ in the Netherlands, the guide illustrates how circular economy principles can be implemented in architecture, urban planning, and material management.

As one of the key partners, VERDE contributed its expertise in sustainability and green design. VERDE supported the research and validation of case studies, ensuring the guide reflects cutting-edge environmental practices and aligns with EU Green Deal goals.

The Best Practices Guide is freely available online and serves as both an educational tool and a practical reference for professionals and training institutions. It supports the transition toward a circular economy and promotes European leadership in sustainable building.
