Wrapping Up an Inspiring Journey: Youth Energy Labs Final Event in Milan
We’ve recently returned from an unforgettable experience at the Youth Energy Labs (YEL) Final Event held in vibrant Milan — and what a journey it has been!
Over the past year, Youth Energy Labs, funded by the Erasmus+ Programme, brought together young people and professionals from across Europe with one shared goal: to drive forward sustainability, renewable energy, circular economy, and green entrepreneurship through hands-on learning and innovation.
🚀 Sharing Our Work, Celebrating Innovation
At the final event, we proudly presented the outcomes of our local Energy Lab and the incredible efforts of our young participants. One of the highlights was celebrating the winning initiative from Greece — “Green Up Challenge”.
This youth-led project truly captured the spirit of YEL. It turns sustainability into action by blending:
-
Engaging weekly eco-challenges (like going plastic-free or upcycling),
-
Interactive clean energy workshops (think solar lamps and energy-generating bikes),
-
And a platform for young green entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas and grow them with community support.
Though most of the winning team couldn’t be present, we were lucky to have Kostas with us in Milan to share his passion and insight with the wider community.
💚 Gratitude to Our Partners
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our amazing hosts Legambiente Lombardia, whose support and hospitality made the Milan event such a success.
Special thanks also go to our coordinator Área de Empleo e Inclusión Social – Fundación Santa María la Real, and our dedicated project partners: Ecological Future Education and Colegio Hipatia FUHEM. Your hard work, collaboration, and commitment have been key to the success of Youth Energy Labs.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this project, from trainers and youth workers to the brilliant young minds who stepped up with ideas for a greener future.
