Youth Energy Labs Project concludes – Final Event in Milan showcases results and youth-led projects
Milan, Italy – October 2025 – After two years of collaboration among partners from Italy, Spain, Greece and Latvia, the Erasmus+ funded Youth Energy Labs (YEL) project is coming to an end.
Since 2023, YEL has worked to empower young people and youth professionals to take action for environmental sustainability by providing free, accessible tools and resources to support education, training and community initiatives.
The project has focused on five key themes: Environmental sustainability, Renewable energies, Circular economy, Sustainable consumption and Green entrepreneurship. As a result, YEL has produced three main deliverables, now freely available on its website in English, Italian, Spanish, Greek and Latvian:
- Youth Workers’ Research Report – A detailed study of training needs in sustainability.
- YEL E-Course – A five-module online training for youth professionals, combining theory, case studies and practical tools.
- YEL Practical Guide – A manual for creating and running Energy Labs, adaptable to different contexts.
These resources can be used by youth workers, educators, trainers and young people themselves to design workshops, develop projects and promote sustainable practices in their communities.
The Italian Final Event will take place on 16 October 2025, from 10:00 to 13:00 at Cascina Nascosta, Parco Sempione, Milan, under the title “Saving the Planet Begins at Breakfast”. The programme will include a presentation of project results, two parallel workshops on sustainable food (in Italian and English) and the screening of videos created by young participants from all partner countries. These videos, developed during YEL’s activities, showcase innovative ideas and practical solutions designed by young people to tackle environmental challenges. All information on the event at:

The Youth Energy Labs Project
Youth Energy Labs (YEL) is an initiative co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme, involving young people from Spain, Italy, Greece, and Latvia in promoting renewable energies and the circular economy. The project provides these young people, and the professionals who support them, with the tools and knowledge needed to build a sustainable future, through targeted training programmes and resources. Through practical laboratories and youth-led initiatives, YEL fosters positive change and spreads a culture of sustainability within the participating communities.
