According to McKinsey, the fashion industry has been growing rapidly for decades and it’s not slowing down. By 2030, the amount of clothes produced is expected to reach over 100 million tons – a 63% increase. But if things are getting this serious, what can we do?
One powerful step is to stop supporting fast fashion brands and start choosing more eco-friendly options .
Before buying something new, ask yourself: do I really need another pair of jeans?

A creative and sustainable solution is to give new life to old clothes by turning them into unique pieces. This way, we reduce waste and express our personal style.

We’ll explore this topic and much more during the youth exchange “UpCycle Life” in Kaunas, Lithuania, from July 8th to 18th, 2025. There will be hands-on workshops where participants will learn how to upcycle your own clothes.
